Project Officer – Islands Centre for Net Zero, Western Isles
37 hours per week, Fixed Term 31 March 2029
£38,452 to £42,465 per annum (inclusive of £2,859 Distant Islands Allowance per annum)
A Project officer is required to support the delivery of the Island Growth Deal funded Islands Centre for Net Zero project in the Outer Hebrides in collaboration with delivery partners, maximising and implementing capital and research & development decarbonisation projects across the Islands to accelerate the Outer Hebrides net zero ambitions.
You will be required to work collaboratively with ICNZ delivery partners and stakeholders, locally and across the partner Islands Growth Deal area/ organisations. Establish active engagement and sound knowledge sharing practices across the local decarbonisation landscape, ensuring added value and maximization of ICNZ initiatives and opportunities and Compile, assess and process claims for the ICNZ OH Project and delivery partners, ensuring compliant audit processes and good budget monitoring.
You must understand net zero aims and local issues affecting widespread uptake of initiatives and Knowledge of the key economic and community issues impacting communities in the Outer Hebrides as well as Awareness of the Scottish Government’s key policy actions in relation to the Energy and Climate Change Directorate.
You should have Strong oral communication skills including the ability to present information verbally to engage a range of audiences, especially those experiencing barriers to adoption of net zero and Excellent organisational/ time-management skills to deal effectively with a diverse workload - meeting targets and deadlines, organising events, publicity and evaluation. Proven ability to multi-task and work effectively on a diverse range of projects.
Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of grade.
