JOB PURPOSE
The role of the Youth Services Manager involves leading and coordinating our Youth Work team to continuously improve the quality-of-service delivery to ensure better outcomes for children and young people within the Bridgend Borough.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting Staff, General Management, and Project Delivery
1. Support Youth Worker to design and run group sessions that are supportive, enjoyable, goal focussed and educational for young people.
2. Marketing and Promotion of the Youth Service in line with current social media strategy.
3. Liaise with external organisations promoting the youth service and other opportunities available within the organisation.
4. Identify future funding opportunities and direction for the youth service.
5. Devise and continually evaluate an organisational strategy for our Youth service setting improvement.
6. Offer effective and impactful leadership, supervision, and direct line management of the Youth Work Team.
7. Proactively engage and maintain strong relationships with young people, and their families.
8. Demonstrate awareness of current legislation/developments on local and national youth work initiatives and policies, including safeguarding, child protection, confidentiality, and data protection.
9. With the Development Officer, review, update, and implement changes within our youth service delivery, driven by evolving local needs and priorities.
10. With the Senior Leadership Team update youth service documents to ensure best practice, including model policies, quality assurance materials and audit tools.
11. Ensure that the advice, support, and challenge given to all members of staff and volunteers is of a high quality and impacts positively on the quality-of-service delivery, and on outcomes for children and young people.
12. Ensure that any budget allocated to projects within the Youth service supports the development of high-quality practice in settings and is well-managed, in line with strategic priorities and grant terms and conditions.
13. Effective management of projects, ensuring targets are achieved by developing and maintaining robust systems at the application stage, the implementation stage, and the measuring impact stage.
14. Represent The Bridge within networks locally and nationally.
15. Promote a high standard of professional practice through personal example and through appropriate professional training & development.
16. Provide information to the Principal Officer on trends in relation to quality assurance and performance indicators.
17. Contribute to, and/or participate in, projects and initiatives associated with the functions of both their own area of work and others as required.
18. Undertake risk assessments where relevant and devise appropriate risk management plans.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in the on-going development of the Bridge MPS Youth Service daily.
2. Take advantage of training opportunities as advised by the Principal Officer
3. Attend supervision meetings with the Principal Officer
4. Ensure confidentiality Policy and Procedures are always adhered to.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To ensure the implementation of the Bridge MPS Child Protection Policy, safeguarding processes, and procedures in conjunction with the Trustee Safeguarding lead.
2. The DSL will take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the organisation, including online safety.
3. To advise and support members of staff on child welfare, safeguarding and child protection matters, liaising with relevant agencies, such as the local authority and police.
4. Ensure that all staff have access to and understand the Bridge MPS Child Protection Policy and procedures.
5. Ensure all staff have the required knowledge and skills to keep children safe at all times.

Qualifications:
Educated to a minimum of Level 3 in Youth Work Practice with the ability to demonstrate competence through experience.

Willingness to work towards ILM Level 3 or relevant qualification.

Designated Safeguarding Lead training or willingness to undertake training.
