We are looking for a Software Asset Manager to join our team on a fixed term basis. This is a specialist role that will involve liaising with Senior Management and Technical Teams alike to ensure the technology and software solutions the University both adopts and maintains, continue to deliver value and maintain legal compliance.
You will be responsible for overseeing the University’s entire software and associated assets / services, ensuring compliance with underlying licence and contractual conditions, usage optimisation and management of software procurement. This involves the tracking of all software and SaaS usage, negotiating vendor contracts and implementing policies to mitigate associated legal and financial risks.
You will also provide training, coaching and mentoring to others on specific tasks, giving guidance and feedback based on own knowledge or experience.
About you
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of Software Licencing and Software Asset Management (SAM) for on premise, Cloud and SaaS environments. This should be complemented with a working knowledge of SAM and IT Service Desk tools operating within an ITIL based IT operations environment.
You will ideally have proven experience of managing relationships within teams and the impact on the overall aims and objectives, evidencing ability to break down barriers and building beneficial working relationships.
Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
The University of Exeter is an equal opportunity employer. We are officially recognised as a Disability Confident employer and an Athena Swan accredited institution. Whilst all applicants will be judged on merit alone, we particularly welcome applications from groups currently underrepresented in the workforce
