Are you a passionate and resilient teacher with a strong interest in supporting young people with mental health needs? Hays Education is working in partnership with a unique specialist setting in Greater Manchester to recruit a dedicated teacher to join their team. This is a rare opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a therapeutic educational environment, teaching students aged 11-19 who are currently receiving inpatient care.

Your New Company

This specialist hospital school provides education to young people admitted to CAMHS units at Prestwich and Fairfield Hospitals. Students are temporarily on roll while receiving treatment and benefit from a highly personalised curriculum tailored to their emotional and mental health needs. The school is known for its compassionate ethos, creative teaching approaches, and strong multi-agency collaboration. Staff work closely with clinical teams to ensure education is part of the recovery journey, and the school has a strong reputation for safeguarding, inclusion, and trauma-informed practice. What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching KS3-KS5 (subject specialism flexible)
  • A strong understanding of SEMH and trauma-informed practice
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to adapt teaching to meet individual needs
  • A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
  • Experience working in CAMHS, PRUs, SEND, or alternative provision is desirable but not essential. Full training and support will be provided.
