The Position
The role of the Production Operative is to produce the quality product that CGM has a reputation of producing. The role is involved in all levels of production of the final product. Due to the nature of the role full on the job training is provided and the knowledge of the experienced team will be shared in order to assist in this. In time the production operative will be able to manufacture the products from start to finish.
Person Specification
• No qualifications are required
• No experience Required all training provided
• Able to follow/take instruction
• Be part of a team but also able to work on their own
• Good Hand/Eye coordination
• Work to Deadlines and Timescales.
• Accurate and eye for detail
Main Duties
• All levels of production, CGM defines four stages of production
o Cutting/Dipping – preparation of wire for production process
o Weaving – main production task
o Assembly – putting grip together with ready for the final stage
o Finishing – use of machinery to complete and stamp the product prior to despatch
• Quality Control – Each member of the team is the first point of quality control. If you get your task done correctly the person following on will have less problems.
• Keeping work space clear and tidy.
• Moving wire about the workshop
• Advising management of stock running low.
We do not expect any production operative to complete a task they have not received training for, and will not be using any machinery without the correct level of training and supervision.
