Contract: Term Time + 1 week, 37 hours per week

Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–4:00pm, Friday 8:00am–3:30pm

Location: The Ladder School

Responsible to: Office Manager/SLT PA

About the Role

The Ladder School is seeking an Admissions and Data Officerto join our dedicated support staff team. This varied role combines front-of-house reception duties, student admissions, and data management, making you a key part of our school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a professional and friendly welcome to students, parents, visitors, and contractors.
• Manage visitor sign-in and safeguarding protocols.
• Answer and direct telephone calls and emails, relaying messages promptly.
• Monitor student entry/exit, lateness, appointments, and early departures.
• Process admissions enquiries and documentation, maintaining accurate records.
• Arrange meetings for prospective students and parents/carers with the Headteacher.
• Support transition arrangements and onboarding of new students.
• Liaise with internal staff and external agencies regarding student information, allergies, and medications.
• Ensure all student data on SIMS is up to date; assist with school census and reporting.
• Support the Exam Officer and help coordinate student recruitment events.

Person Specification

Essential:

• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience in a customer-facing or front-of-house role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Awareness of safeguarding and data protection responsibilities.
• Warm, welcoming, and professional demeanour.

Desirable:

• First Aid qualification.
• Experience in a school or educational setting.
• Experience using SIMS or similar MIS.
• Relevant administration or customer service qualifications.
