An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Perth City and Highland Social Work Team for a full-time, permanent Senior Practitioner.

Applications are being invited from experienced, confident, motivated and creative Social Workers who are looking to develop their practice knowledge, skills and experience in a leadership role.

This post will include managing and supervising staff, chairing meetings, holding a small caseload of complex cases and other tasks delegated by the Team Leader.

The Perth City and Highland Team is a busy social work team working with children from pre-birth to 18 years old, and their families to achieve identified outcomes. The team serves a large geographical area and provides a wide variety of care and support interventions and services.

For purposes of connection and collaboration with colleagues and with the community we serve, our full-time employees work on site for a minimum of 3 days per week with the arrangements for part time employees being agreed on a basis which will ensure that they benefit to an equivalent degree.

The successful applicant will have significant experience of statutory Children and Families Social Work and be confident in the areas of Child Protection, Children's Hearings, Inter-Agency Referral Discussions, Looked After and Accommodated Children, and complex casework.

We are looking for an organised person with a flexible approach who holds the ability to manage time effectively and produce accurate, high quality work, often to tight timescales.

We are looking for an ambitious, compassionate practitioner who can demonstrate experience of working with integrity in line with the values of Perth and Kinross Council. We are also looking for a practitioner who demonstrates a rights-based approach that encourages relationship based practice and a focus on the best outcomes for children.

You will be an experienced Social Worker who has worked within a variety of settings and has experience of statutory work and legislation.

You should be interested in developing skills to support both the staff group, and a variety of service user groups.

You will be creative, enthusiastic, embracing of challenge and committed to improving the lives of the people we work with. You will have empathy and a drive to support children and families to empower themselves and strive for positive outcomes.

You should have experience in gathering, monitoring and analysing relevant data and creating plans and interventions to support this.

You will be an organised individual with excellent communication and problem solving skills. You must be computer literate with proven IT Skills, have experience in preparing and presenting clear and concise reports and presentations for a range of purposes including formal meetings and court settings.

You must hold a recognised Social Work Qualification (Degree in Social Work, DIPSW, CQSW, CSS or other relevant Social Work qualification) and be registered as a Social Worker with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

You must have a valid UK driving licence and ability to drive as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
