Overview
We are looking for a Psychology graduate to support the work on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) across the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training programme. This post is to develop work set as a priority by Health Education England.

The primary responsibilities for the postholder are to support the EDI lead for the Clinical Psychology training programme and will include developing and evaluating programme initiatives, such as a mentoring programme for ethnic minoritised applicants, curriculum review, community outreach, changes to the selection process, and supervisor training. This will involve close liaison with local NHS Trusts, University colleagues and other programme stakeholders, (such as trainees and Experts by Experience, Service Users and Carers).

Main duties and responsibilities

Supporting the DClinPsy EDI lead
-
Support the EDI lead on matters relating to equality and inclusion for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic trainee and aspiring trainee clinical psychologists on, or potentially applying to, the clinical psychology doctorate training programme, as well as on broader Equality, Diversity and Inclusion matters.

Support the EDI lead and programme team leads (academic, admissions, curriculum, research, Personal and Professional Development (PPD), clinical practice), in the development and delivery of a sustainable EDI strategy.

Support the EDI lead to liaise and collaborate with University and NHS colleagues, and other key stakeholders including Experts by Experience/Co-production colleagues and experts in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion locally, regionally and nationally to ensure ED&I initiatives are implemented and are sustainable.

Provide a lead in evaluating EDI developments

.Teaching and Learning

Work with the EDI lead to develop and deliver anti-racism and inclusive practice for key stakeholders involved in the collaborative provision of the clinical psychology programme (for example clinical placement supervisors and external lecturers).

Work with the EDI lead on decolonisation of the curriculum and to ensure issues relating to race, ethnicity, other areas of protected characteristics, such as age and sex, the role socio-economic factors play in maintaining inequality, racism and discrimination are adequately covered and embedded within the teaching curriculum.

Develop resources to support mentoring and training.

Relationships and Team Working

Plan and prioritise own daily workload in view of the requirements of the EDI duties and responsibilities.

Closely liaise and collaborate with local and regional University and NHS colleagues, trainees, Experts by Experience/Co-production colleagues/Service users and carers and other stakeholders when undertaking the duties, roles and responsibilities of the post as directed by the EDI lead.

Act as a responsible team member and develop productive working relationships with other members of the team

Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post

Grade: 6
Salary: £31,637
- £36,130 per annum, pro rataWork Arrangement: Part-time, 14 hours per week
Duration: 12 months, with a start date on 1st September 2025
