Casual Site and Community AssistantWe require a casual Site and Community Assistant to join the school’s dedicated Estates team to help support our extensive Community Hire Programme, as soon as possible.
You will primarily be employed to supervise our sports facilities, including our popular ATP, during lettings, ensuring any specific requirements for each hirer are met prior to their arrival (for example, lights on, specific equipment is out ready to use) and ensuring the facilities are left clean and tidy and ready for the next use. Duties will also include event setups, meeting and greeting hirers, assisting with any queries and opening / securing the school site.
The successful applicant will be the key contact for our community users. You should have good communication and interpersonal skills and be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work in order to provide a first class service. Some lifting may be required from time to time. The role will involve lone working, especially at weekends, so the successful applicant will need to be able to work on their own initiative.
The role could suit a mature and responsible college or University student (minimum age 18) or an individual looking specifically for part time or casual employment. We are likely to be able to offer casual hours between 8am and 6:30pm on Saturdays initially.Robert May’s School is a popular and over-subscribed 11-16 school in a beautiful and easy-to-access part of Hampshire (close to junction 5 off the M3). We have a strong record of academic achievement and our ethos of mutual respect, hard work and attention to excellence is well-known in the area.An online search will be conducted for all shortlisted candidates to identify any past or current incidents or issues that might affect your suitability to work with children and undertake this role. This is in line with guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education.
