Job Title: Surveyor – Property Damage Assessment
Location: North London
Rate: £250 per day
Type: Contract

We are seeking a highly skilled Surveyor to join a leading reinstatement team covering North London. This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in property damage assessment and reinstatement works across residential and commercial properties.

As a Surveyor, you will be responsible for accurately assessing damage caused by insured perils such as fire, flood, or impact, and preparing detailed reinstatement schedules to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive on-site surveys to assess property damage, including identification of pre-existing conditions and health & safety risks.


  • Produce accurate reinstatement schedules using Xactimate, based on on-site inspections, desktop assessments, and technician reports.


  • Document site details thoroughly with precise measurements, photographs, and special considerations.


  • Work closely with internal teams to clarify survey findings and contribute to efficient project planning.


  • Review and authorise variation requests from subcontractors and trades.


  • Ensure all health & safety documentation (CPP, RAMs) is produced and maintained in line with company policy.


  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records in internal systems (Teams, Handyman).


    Requirements:
    • Proven experience as a Surveyor within property damage assessment or insurance-related reinstatement.


    • Strong technical knowledge of building repair methods, materials, and industry standards.


    • Proficiency with Xactimate and ability to deliver both on-site and desktop surveys.


    • Exceptional attention to detail and reporting skills.


    • Confident communicator with a collaborative approach to team working.


    • Solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements and relevant documentation processes.
