A Personal Assistant required to support a person with a physical impairment (power wheelchair user) with all aspects of health needs and daily living. You would be assisting a young disabled male, who is an academic at a university, and who lives with his partner and dog.
The role entails health-related tasks, personal care, use of hoists and medical devices, cooking/assist with eating, general errands, household tasks, support with pet dog, travel (driving), and assisting individual to carry out their work (including occasional long-distance commute to work).
Requirements: Full, clean, driving license; basic administration skills; basic cooking skills; flexible with shift patterns.
You do not need to have prior experience of working in a healthcare/personal care setting, full training will be provided.
- 12 hour shifts, up to 24 hours per week available (based on 2 shifts per week).
- Full training provided, DBS cost covered by employer, and pension scheme available.
- Employed directly by the individual requiring assistance.
