Murray Recruitment are recruiting a permanent Hire Controller for our client based in South Lanarkshire.

Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing business within the construction support sector. The Hire Controller will be instrumental in managing and overseeing customer hire and service enquiries, coordinating daily operations, and supporting both the service delivery and operations teams. This is a fast-paced, reactive role that requires a confident, sociable, and resilient individual who can balance sales, administration, and problem-solving while maintaining excellent customer rapport.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all customer enquiries via phone, website, and email, ensuring responses within one hour.
Accurately process orders through the internal system and maintain the day work diary.
Plan and issue daily service and delivery itineraries by 4:30pm in coordination with the Operations Manager.
Liaise with drivers and the yard team to ensure efficient daily operations and resolve service issues.
Manage off-hire processing and collections within 48 hours where possible.
Monitor and report weekly on hire stock levels and ensure regular effluent tank routing.
Maximise service run efficiency through coordination with the hire team and management.
Uphold health and safety standards and support a collaborative team environment.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional, ongoing communication.

Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in a similar Administrator or Hire Controller role is highly desirable.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
Clear, confident, and professional verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
A proactive problem-solver with the ability to remain calm and decisive in a fast-moving environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain customer trust.
A resilient character capable of standing their ground when needed, while showing empathy and professionalism.

Offering:
Salary: Depending on experience.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm (40 hours per week).
Holidays: 28 days per annum including 8 statutory days.
