At FCDO Services we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas. We design and construct secure government buildings and courier diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguard government tech and a whole lot more. Our work is as varied and vital as it gets, but we never lose sight of our people. Their skills, aspirations and growth mean as much as the global mission we’re on. In our world, it all matters.
Our Digital and Data technology team are at the forefront of digital innovation. They provide best in-class solutions for our clients, helping to shape and support a data driven future for UK government. Whether it’s creating bespoke, secure software, offering programme and application support or moving an entire embassy’s servers to a Cloud platform. No matter the task, they are on hand to support. Now, you’ve got the opportunity to join them.
Providing innovation to government partners
Delivering best-in-class solutions
Working at the cutting-edge of technology
It all matters
Provide high quality service analysis for our customers around the world
The Service Management team manages a wide range of services for our global customers, from technical security to property facilities. It’s a close-knit, collaborative team, and when you join us you’ll provide high quality analysis that demonstrates how we’re meeting our KPIs and providing great value for money. Working on the creation and maintenance of service documents, you’ll also assist with a variety of service tasks including researching and investigating management information from the regional delivery teams, creating lists of risks and issues, and producing reports or gathering data to assist with specific service management activities.
You’ll have a wide range of additional responsibilities – these include supporting Service Assurance in the development and ongoing management of change, risk and request procedures. We’ll also expect you to work on the operation and support of service management toolsets, perform tracking improvement activities, maintain skills matrix and workforce plans and other records, and undertake a range of day-to-day administrative tasks.
Use your specialist computer skills as you help to keep the UK safe and secure
To be a success in this vital role you should have well developed experience of using Excel to analyse, manipulate and present data, and the ability to use SharePoint and the other applications in the Microsoft Office suite of software. You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment, so it’s also important that you possess the skills to manage and prioritise your workload and meet deadlines, while your excellent communication skills will allow you to interact with a diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders.
Experience of working with a multi-skilled team in Service Management would be desirable, as would the skills to produce information for Board packs. In addition, the ability to streamline and improve processes and draft professional/technical documents would be an advantage.
Discover the support you need to grow your career further
But we’re always looking to improve – just like you. That’s why when you join us, expect to receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, café, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It's a great set of benefits made to support all you do, and all you need.
