Job Title: Receptionist (32 Hours per Week)
Location: Argyll Hotel, 973 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow G3 7TQ

Job Description
We are looking for a friendly, proactive, and reliable Receptionist to join our front desk team. The ideal candidate will have previous hotel or customer service experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You’ll be the first point of contact for our guests — ensuring every visitor has a seamless and positive experience from check-in to check-out.
Hours: 32 hours per week (plus holiday cover when required)
Shifts:
Morning: 7:00am – 3:00pm
Evening: 2:30pm – 10:00pm
Flexibility is essential — weekend and holiday work is required.
️ Key Responsibilities
Welcome and check-in guests with warmth and professionalism
Manage reservations via phone, email, and online systems (e.g., HotelTime, D-Edge)
Accurately process check-outs and payments
Provide local information, directions, and assistance to guests
Handle guest feedback, issues, or complaints with patience and efficiency
Maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming reception area at all times
Communicate effectively with housekeeping, kitchen, and maintenance teams
Monitor arrivals, departures, and room availability
Prepare daily handover reports and assist with admin tasks as needed
✅ Requirements
Minimum 1 year hotel or reception experience preferred
Excellent spoken and written English
Strong IT skills and confidence using hotel software (training provided)
Friendly, professional, and solution-focused approach
Ability to multitask and work independently
A team player who can remain calm and courteous under pressure
A genuine passion for hospitality and guest service
