An opening has emerged for 1 full time Data & Information Governance Supervisor to join the Information Management team working within Digital Policing.

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Data & Information Governance Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining data governance frameworks, ensuring our workforce have the skills and confidence to get the most out of data, and promoting best practice across the organisation.

What is Data Governance? Data governance is all about establishing and embedding policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the data we collect and use every day is of good quality, held lawfully and securely, and is used responsibly and ethically. Effective data governance helps us make informed decisions, comply with regulations, and protect sensitive information while pushing forward with new and innovative data and technology uses.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
• Oversee the delivery of data governance services to support the wider business, ensuring they have access to specialist support along with tools and resources.
• Collaborate with various departments to solve business problems, understand their evolving data skills, needs and priorities, ensure data consistency and compliance, and embed a strong data focussed culture.
• Conduct Training needs assessment and identify skills gaps, ensuring training and support is available to all staff on data governance best practices and wider data literacy skills.
• Co-ordinate and conduct audits to ensure adherence to policies and standards, supporting a continuous improvement culture.

Qualifications:
• Good IT knowledge including use of IT systems, databases, social media and Microsoft Office products ie. Power BI dashboards
• Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to develop and deliver content to diverse audiences, including senior management, data technical and non-technical personnel
• Supervisory experience, or able to demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate and manage people
• Knowledge of Data Protection standards, policies and procedures
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience in a results based, continuous improvement environment. Developing creative solutions, ensuring customer satisfaction and ensure adherence to deadlines.
