A Vacancy at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Respiratory and Sleep Physiology team at UHDB for a senior respiratory physiologist.
This role involves performing and reporting full lung function tests, CPAP initiation and follow up and analysing and interpreting sleep studies. As well as overseeing more junior staff in both respiratory and sleep investigations.
Part of the role is to ensure the smooth running of respiratory diagnostic services across the UHDB sites including the community diagnostic centres. Training will be provided in more specialist areas of testing including non invasive ventilation (NIV).
We are looking for motivated individuals to join the respiratory physiology and sleep team. We have a great team, therefore experience of teamwork is essential to ensure the smooth running of services within respiratory and sleep physiology.
You must have a BSc Hons Degree in Respiratory Physiology, or equivalent qualifications and experience. It is essential for the applicant to have the ARTP Practitioner qualification or ARTP Part 1/2.
You must be able to carry out the range of investigations and treatments in the job role competently and be able to work independently. This includes lung function testing, sleep diagnostics and treatments.
In collaboration with the other physiologists, you will contribute to the smooth day to day running of services by reporting to the managerial lead on a regular basis.
The job will be based at Queens Hospital Burton with rotation across community hubs and other UHDB sites.
We encourage applicants who have recently qualified. UHDB are in a position to offer a developmental Band 6 role, if you do not have sufficient post graduate experience to hit the the ground running at a senior level. Support would be offered to develop skills in the areas needed such as sleep study analysis, reporting junior colleagues lung function, as part of a Band 6 annex 21 developmental role. Further discussions around this could be had at interview, if you are successfully shortlisted.
