Part time role for a Learning Support Assistant to work with children with special educational needs.
Park Mead Primary School is seeking to appoint a part-time Learning Support Assistant from October 2025 to work with children with a range of special educational needs.
This role will involve primarily 1:1 support and is offered as a temporary, child-linked contract for 17.5 hours per week, term time only, plus 3 INSET days.
While prior experience supporting children with additional needs particularly in communication, interaction, or autism, would be ideal, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are the most important qualities.
The role is part-time, Monday to Friday from 8:45am to 12:15pm (3.5 hours per day, 17.5 hours per week), starting in October 2025.
Salary is based on Surrey Pay Scale PS3 (£24,330 FTE), with a pro-rata actual salary of £10,070.41. The final salary will reflect the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and training, as assessed at interview.
Park Mead Primary School is a two-form entry primary, welcoming children from Cranleigh and the surrounding villages. We are proud of our excellent facilities, both within the school and beyond, and play an active role within the wider community of local schools. As a valued member of our team, you will work in a well-resourced setting with children who are eager to learn and thrive on challenge. Our parent community is highly supportive and engaged in school life.
We offer a vibrant and stimulating learning environment, where high expectations and strong achievement go hand in hand with a caring ethos that nurtures the development of the whole child.
Please contact Mr N McAuliffe (Headteacher) or Mrs C Baker (Assistant Headteacher/Early Years Lead) via the school office for more details.
The closing date is Friday 3rd October. Interviews will be held week commencing 6th October. We reserve the right to appoint prior to the closing date.
