Yard Operative / Forklift Driver - East Kilbride
The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative / Forklift Driver on behalf of one of our clients based in East Kilbride.

The Role:
As a Yard Operative / Forklift Driver, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the yard.
Main Responsibilities:
- Operate a Counterbalance Forklift to safely load and unload plant equipment
- Prepare, clean, and maintain equipment, including use of pressure washers where required
- Carry out stock checks and maintain accurate stock records
- Inspect, store, and stack equipment safely to company standards
- Complete regular equipment checks and report any issues or discrepancies
- Support the wider depot team to ensure smooth daily operations
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment
What We're Looking For:
- Previous yard or warehouse experience (preferred)
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential)
- Full, clean UK driving licence (essential)
- Physically fit, able to lift and move heavy objects
- Strong attention to detail and focus on safety
- A team player with a flexible, proactive approach
Working Conditions & Hours:
- Yard-based role with regular outdoor work
- Frequent manual handling, lifting, and bending required
- May occasionally involve working at heights
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:30 (1-hour break, 42.5 hours per week)
- Rate of Pay: £12.41 - £12.60 per hour
