We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our small team. In this role, you will provide essential support to an individual with physical, emotional, and cognitive needs requiring 24 hour one-to-one support in their own home, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, implementing care plans, and fostering a positive environment for the client. Strong communication skills and the ability to work without supervision are essential.
Responsibilities:
• Assisting client with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Supporting client in daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication management, food shopping and collecting prescriptions.
• Assisting client with household chores such as laundry, dishes, changing sheets and other basic cleaning.
• Maintaining accurate records of client progress and any changes in their condition.
• Communicating effectively with client's representatives and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Driving client to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
• Engaging client in activities such as the gym and local walks.
Requirements:
• Previous experience in a care home or home care setting and/or working with clients with Prader-Willi syndrome is preferred but not essential.
• A valid driving licence and use of own vehicle is essential.
• Proficiency in English is required for effective communication.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient and compassionate attitude.
• Excellent timekeeping.
• Capable of working without supervision.
• Able to stay calm under pressure.
