We have an exciting opportunity for a keen professional to develop their career in marketing and events. You will lead on the creation of marketing assets to develop our identity, initiating marketing plans and strategies for the University of Sheffield’s Confucius Institute. You will have the opportunity to lead on a range of events, managing stakeholders ensuring the public experience is rewarding and informative.
Reporting directly to the Director of the Confucius Institute (CI), you will take initiative in public relations and promotions across the CI’s projects and services. You will have hands-on engagements with businesses and wider communities. You will enjoy a challenging and proactive working life, within a multi-cultural team that values your ideas and creativity. You will have a keen interest in keeping up to date with digital communication channels.
You will:
· Have a good honours degree in Marketing/Communications/Business or a related subject or equivalent experience
· Experience working in a marketing and / or events role and demonstrable understanding of the whole marketing mix
· Experience of planning, leading and monitoring marketing and communications campaigns, including print, social media and digital media
· Have strong written, oral, presentational and analytical skills including effective use of technology where appropriate.
Appointment to the post will be subject to a security check, such as a Basic Disclosure Check.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Sheffield (SCI) is one of the many successful international partnerships at the University of Sheffield. It was set up in 2007 in partnership with the Confucius Institute Headquarters (now named the Centre for Language Education and Cooperation), Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) and Nanjing University (NJU).
