Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Independent Social Worker (Form F Assessor) to join our team at Grade 8 level. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the assessment process of prospective foster carers by conducting comprehensive Form F assessments. This includes evaluating the suitability of applicants to provide safe and nurturing homes for children in need. As an Independent Social Worker, you will engage with applicants through interviews, home visits, and gathering relevant information to ensure thorough evaluations. You will need to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and maintain strict confidentiality while adhering to relevant legislation and best practices within the field. Your expertise will contribute to writing reports that inform decision-making and ensure the ongoing development of foster care services. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with various stakeholders including local authorities, foster care agencies, and the families involved, promoting a supportive and respectful environment. Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive Form F assessments for prospective foster carers.
Engage applicants in interviews to gather personal history and motivations for fostering.
Conduct home visits to evaluate the living environment.
Gather information from references and relevant agencies to support the assessment process.
Prepare detailed reports that summarize findings and recommendations for approval or denial.
Collaborate with local authorities and other stakeholders involved in the foster care system.
Ensure all assessments are completed within deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Requirements
A recognized qualification in social work and current registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
Substantial experience in social work, particularly within child protection and fostering.
Proven experience in conducting assessment work related to Form F.
Strong written communication skills for report writing and documentation.
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse clients and families.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, local authority policies, and best practices in fostering.
Ability to work independently, manage a varied workload, and adhere to strict deadlines.

Pay Per Hour: £21.14
