Crynodeb
To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own clinical practice, including the management of patients. To undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients including those with diverse or highly complex presentations or multiple pathologies, using advanced clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to formulate accurate clinical picture and provide a diagnosis. To formulate and deliver (from a variety of options) specialised individual or group physiotherapy treatment programmes based on a sound knowledge of treatment skills underpinned by theoretical knowledge and experience. These skills will include; advanced manual physiotherapy techniques, mobilisation and joint manipulation, patient education, exercise classes, electrotherapy techniques and other alternative options, for example, acupuncture. To evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes as required. To formulate soundly reasoned clinical diagnoses and prognoses and make recommendations for the best course of intervention, developing short and long term negotiated patient goals leading to comprehensive patient discharge plans. Working in the community setting may include lone working with telephone support line from a line manger to answer non-clinical and clinical queries as required. To be responsible for the safe and competent use of all electrotherapy equipment, gym equipment and appliances to be used by the patients. To monitor and prioritise patients on the waiting list. To act as location lead for the physiotherapy clinic if requested to do so.
