A forward-thinking secondary school in Birmingham is looking to welcome a motivated MFL Graduate Teaching Assistant to their team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring teachers or education professionals to gain meaningful experience supporting students in language learning across KS3 and KS4.

You’ll work closely with experienced MFL teachers and dedicated support staff, all of whom are committed to creating engaging and accessible lessons that help students build language skills and global perspectives.
Your Role as an MFL Graduate Teaching AssistantYou’ll support students in a range of language lessons (primarily French and/or Spanish), helping them to develop their confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Your responsibilities may include:

Supporting students during class, helping them to understand vocabulary, grammar, and cultural content

Delivering one-to-one or small group interventions for students who need extra help

Assisting teachers with lesson preparation, classroom activities, and resource development

Promoting a positive learning environment that encourages language use and cultural curiosity

Helping with revision sessions, exam preparation, and assessment support

Building strong relationships with students to support their confidence and progress

Holds a 2:1 degree or above in French, Spanish, German, or a related MFL subject

Is interested in a future career in teaching, education, or language support

Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Is passionate about promoting language learning and intercultural understanding

May have prior experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or volunteering)
