Opus people solutions on behalf of our Client in the South East of England have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join their Fostering Team
Job Title: Social Worker
Length of assignment: 3 Months
Hours per week: 37
Hourly rate: £38
Location: South East of England
Remote/Office based: Hybrid - 3 days per week in the office
About the role
The overall aim is to recruit, assess, support, monitor, and retain foster carers, ensure that children in foster care are safe and well‑cared for, and that the service meets its legal and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Complete thorough Form F assessments for prospective foster carers
Provide regular supervision and support to approved foster carers
Monitor placements, offer guidance, and respond to challenges carers face.
Be the main point of contact for advice, safeguarding concerns, or placement issues.
Take part in the duty rota to respond to urgent placement needs or foster carer support requests.

Handle enquiries about fostering, including from prospective applicants
Liaise with professionals from health, education, safeguarding, and legal services.
Skills
Qualified Social Worker (registered with Social Work England)
Relevant fostering experience
Good knowledge of Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards.
3 Years of post qualifying experience
Driving licence is required.
