Believe in people.The roleWe are currently recruiting for 5 Grounds Maintenance Estates Operatives in this area.The purpose of this role is to provide high quality grounds maintenance and associated estates services for Orbit estates and properties.This role is part of Property where you'll help us to lead the way investing and maintaining 46,000 homes.This role is full time and based in Coventry / Leamington and surrounding areas What you'll achieveResponsible for maintaining landscaped and communal areas to a high standard, including grass cutting, hedge cutting, shrub pruning, weed control maintaining of borders and litter pickingEnsure that estates are kept in accordance with Orbit standards and in a clean and tidy condition, with all garden waste materials and litter removed from site and appropriately disposed of.Ensure that customers are satisfied with the services delivered across your areas of responsibility, communicating and signposting customers to appropriate service for other queriesResponsible for carrying out or arranging routine maintenance of gardening equipment. Ensuring that tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment are kept to an acceptable standard and inventory kept and up to dateEnsure all relevant Health & Safety compliance whilst on site, to include but not limited to, working at heights, lone working, manual handling, risk assessments, COSHH, ensuring that PPE, where appropriate, and Orbit’s uniform is always wornTo be responsible for the company vehicle, if appropriate, ensuring it is kept clean and in roadworthy condition, carrying out visual inspections and checks and arranging servicing/repairs as necessary once authorisation has been granted by In-House Team LeaderTo note and report damage, vandalism, hazards or fly tipping on estates and report these to the Property and Estates CoordinatorWhat you'll bringEssential skillsMust hold a current full UK driving licence and be willing to drive the association’s vehicles, including vans and tipper transitsExperience of gardening/estates services activities including the use of appropriate plant and machineryUnderstanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practicesAbility to plan workloads to ensure that all tasks are completedTo be able to communicate effectively with customers and staffDesirable skillsPA1 and PA6 spraying certificateAbility to tow a trailerCity and Guilds NVQ in estates maintenanceWhy Orbit?Choosing us means being rewarded in every sense.Here’s what you can expect to enjoy with us.A rewarding experience that works for you We strive to create an inclusive experience with benefits and wellbeing programmes designed to help you, and your loved ones, to thrive.
