Summary

Hours: Between 9-14 hours per week, term time only, according to my work timetable. Varying times between 8:30am - 4:30pm per week, usually Monday to Wednesday with very occasional hours on other weekdays.

Rate of Pay: £16:00 per hour for time spent driving or supporting

Area: Within Newcastle upon Tyne

Car driver with own vehicle essential. Fuel allowance provided.

I am a 56-year-old woman residing in Newcastle with my family. I am a Special Educational Needs specialist speech and language teacher working for Newcastle City Council in schools citywide. I offer assessment, training and support in schools and travel between schools and settings across each week. I am a non-driver.

I have a back condition which has affecting my ability to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods, especially when carrying bags/resources. I am sociable, chatty and easy to get along with. I have a high degree of professional pride and would like to continue working for as long as possible. I am hoping this support with getting myself to and from work will make that happen.

Brief details of the job

Driving me from home to schools and settings across Newcastle. Putting my bags/trolley/laptop into the car and then helping me take them into schools. Sometimes helping me to set up a workstation with suitable chair/table. Helping me to organise resources when I’m delivering training (e.g. putting activities or papers out on desks).

The driver will need business insurance on their vehicle. A petrol allowance is provided.
