Business Support Officer to support the Housing Standards team within the Strategic and Private Sector Housing Team. This role involves a range of functions related to housing standards in the private sector, from engaging with landlords and property owners to enforcing property standards. This position offers a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to provide essential administrative support across various areas.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide administrative support including inputting documentation related to housing act notices, civil penalties, and general admin duties to produce legal notices.
  • Input case file information onto our case management system, Locata.
  • Organise correspondence, review licence applications, and support the team in various administrative tasks.
  • Input and extract data from a range of ICT systems, set up meetings, and take minutes.
  • Monitor the team's inbox, triage incoming work, and respond to enquiries related to empty homes within the borough.
  • Maintain high standards of customer care and contribute positively to day-to-day working practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment, managing a variety of demands while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Excellent IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to undertake a wide range of technical and general admin tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of drafting documentation and effectively interacting with customers and colleagues.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic, with a customer-focused attitude and a desire to make a positive difference.

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
