Plus generous benefits including a Generous Occupational Pension SchemeAbout the roleAre you passionate about supporting students with autism to thrive in education? We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Learning Support Practitioner to provide tailored one-to-one and group support for students with Autism. You will work closely with students, teaching staff, and external professionals to create inclusive learning environments that promote independence, well-being, and academic success.This role involves developing and implementing individualised support plans, delivering autism awareness training to staff, and contributing to the creation of autism-friendly resources. You’ll play a key role in fostering resilience and emotional regulation in students, helping them to engage confidently with their studies and peers.About the personYou will have experience working with students with autism in educational settings and be confident in implementing personalised support strategies and aiding teaching colleagues to adopt inclusive practices. A recognised qualification in autism or a willingness to work towards one is essential. You’ll bring strong communication and behaviour management skills, empathy, and a commitment to inclusion and diversity.About the CollegeWe are a large, regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of more one million people. Each year, we have approximately 4,000 school leavers, 1,000 apprentices, 2,000 adult students, and 400 higher-level students studying with us.
