£39,862 - £42,839 per annum

Hybrid working contract
37 hours per week
2-year fixed term contract
The Council is seeking to appoint a confident and self-motivated individual with a background in quantity surveying and contract management to work across the departmental workstreams within housing of responsive repairs, voids, planned works and compliance to drive service quality and performance through our work with third party contractors and suppliers.
You will possess a HND or equivalent in quantity surveying or have equivalent knowledge and skill demonstrated through experience in a construction related background and have experience of evaluating tenders and schedules of rates and managing contracts and contractors.
You will have a good understanding of current regulations relating to all aspects of building safety and compliance, you will also possess a detailed understanding of procurement and construction contract management.
The primary areas of responsibility include:
• Provide management, mentoring, and supervision for the overall approval and payment process across the department and its various workstreams to deliver a high quality, effective, efficient, and value for money service for residents.
• Scrutinise quotations and requests for payments for accuracy.
• Provide support on the Council’s procurement activity across the department and its services, including assessing tender evaluations for quality and price.
• Manage the Council’s corporate compliance, contracts, and building repairs budget.
• Manage a small team of staff responsible for looking after our important corporate assets and our resident experience officer.
• Identifying and proposing areas for service improvements across the assets department.
You will require a full driving licence and will need to have access to a vehicle in order to carry out your duties.
