A well-established specialist SEN school in Trafford is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team. The school provides outstanding support for pupils aged 11-19 with autism, communication difficulties, and other complex SEN, helping them to thrive in a structured, therapeutic, and person-centred environment.
About the Role:
- Teaching a small class of students with EHCPs and varying levels of need.
- Delivering a broad, creative, and accessible curriculum, tailored to individual learning plans.
- Working closely with a team of experienced TAs, therapists, and support staff.
- Embedding communication, independence, and life skills throughout the school day.
- Maintaining high expectations while promoting a calm, safe and inclusive classroom environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- QTS/QTLS (Essential)
- Experience teaching pupils with autism, SLD, PMLD, or other additional needs.
- Strong understanding of differentiation, sensory regulation, and communication strategies (e.g. PECS, Makaton, AAC).
- A calm, adaptable, and resilient approach.
- A genuine passion for inclusive education and improving outcomes for young people with SEN.
