Are you passionate about helping children develop their communication skills? We're looking for a nurturing and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in West Bromwich. You'll play a vital role supporting pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). This is a long-term position with a view to be made permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with EAL by modelling vocabulary, building sentence structures, and encouraging structured talk
- Deliver 1:1 and small-group language interventions under the guidance of the school's Speech and Language Therapist
- Use communication tools like PECS, Makaton, and visual aids to support children with SLCN
- Track and celebrate progress in line with personalised communication targets
- Nurture a calm, inclusive classroom environment where every child has a voice

You Will Need:
- Experience supporting pupils with SLCN and/or EAL, ideally in a primary setting
- Confidence using strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables
- A patient, consistent, and creative approach to communication support
- Knowledge of EYFS or KS1 development is a bonus

- Trial days instead of formal interviews to ensure the right fit.
- Access to free CPD training, including Understanding Autism, Behaviour Management, and further professional development/refreshers.

Next Steps - Our 4-Step Process
- Apply - Submit your CV via the application page.
- Initial Call - Our team will discuss your experience and preferences.
- Trial Day - Experience the school before making a decision.
