Student Support Worker - Secondary School - Wandsworth
Up to £120 per day | Temporary Role
Long Term Futures are working with a well-regarded secondary school in Wandsworth to appoint a Student Support Worker to join the team immediately.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent English graduate (or a related subject) looking to gain hands-on experience in education. The successful candidate will play a key role supporting both classroom learning and the delivery of the school's targeted Reading Programme, designed to boost literacy levels and develop reading confidence across KS3 and KS4.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students in lessons across a range of subjects, with a focus on literacy and written work
* Deliver 1:1 and small group sessions as part of the school's Reading Programme
* Assist in the development of reading strategies, guided reading and comprehension tasks
* Monitor progress and engagement, feeding back to teaching staff and SENCo
* Build strong relationships with students to boost confidence and academic participation
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* A degree in English, English Literature, or a closely related subject
* A genuine interest in education, literacy, and student support
* Excellent communication and written skills
* A calm, supportive and enthusiastic approach
* Previous school experience is desirable but not essential
Location and Transport - Wandsworth, South West London
* Close to Clapham Junction, Wandsworth Town and Earlsfield stations
* Bus routes include: 37, 44, 77, 337, 270
* Local parking and secure bike storage available
