Vacancies have arisen within balance of site programme for craft technician electrical to support the delivery of plant maintenance activities.

The successful candidate will join the engineering maintenance team based in balance of site programme and will integrate into the electrical team to support delivery of maintenance and project tasks to the highest of regulatory and professional standards.
Responsibilities:
Liaise with suppliers/manufacturers/engineers and plant operations on technical issues
Mentor apprenticeship development and may be an SVQ assessor
Produce fit for purpose job reports describing accurately the work that has been carried out, recommendations, solutions, PMI amendment details, conditions assessments, etc
Assess the effectiveness of maintenance procedures and provide required amendments and changes
Identify and rectify routine maintenance problems where applicable
Utilise diagnostic techniques to identify faults plants, systems and components
Reinstate the work area after completing the maintenance of plant, systems and components
Identify and report common equipment performance issues
Carry out planned maintenance activities and defect rectification efficiently, includes defect investigation of causes and proposal of solutions whilst maintaining a focus on programme and resources
Identify obsolescence and end-of-life issues
Conduct safe and effective handover of plant and equipment to others and accept and confirm responsibility for the control of the plant and equipment within the work area isolation boundary
Identify areas/opportunities for improvement processes, working practice, equipment utilisation, etc, offering solutions where appropriate
Perform the responsibilities of authorisations relevant to the post. Hold a relevant disciplined nominated appointment
Aptitudes and experience:
Electrical apprenticeship plus HNC in engineering or equivalent qualifications plus experience
17th or 18th edition IET wiring regulations course required
Inspection and testing (city & guilds) desirable
Demonstrable experience in electrical maintenance
Self-motivated and assertive
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills
Good level of IT skills
