Job descriptionLincoln UTC is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Teacher of English to join our high-achieving department from January 2026. This fixed-term role covers maternity leave and involves teaching English at KS4 and possibly KS5, dependent on experience. The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge, a passion for inspiring young people, and a track record of helping students achieve strong outcomes.
This role will be offered on a temporary basis to cover a maternity leave for a period of between 9- 12 months.
The successful candidate will become part of a supportive and collaborative department. Applicants must have experience teaching GCSE literature, ideally including our set texts: Romeo and Juliet, A Christmas Carol, and An Inspector Calls.
Person specification:
• Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Strong track record of success in English at KS4/KS5.
• Ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students.
• Commitment to collaborative working and continuous improvement.
