Grade 3 (SCP 6-11) £25,989 - £28,142 (pro rota to hours worked) plus 8% SEN allowance

The Harmony Trust is a strong Multi Academy Trust with academies in Oldham, Tameside, Rochdale and Derby. We are looking for a motivated, passionate and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will initially be deployed to Alt Academy.

The Harmony Trust was established in February 2014 and currently has 17 schools but looking to expand in the near future. This brings with it exciting opportunities for career progression and development for existing and future employees.

Employment Opportunity

The Board of Trustees wishto providean opportunity for an enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant. Deployment will initially be at Alt Academy however future deployment could be supporting children in any of our academies in the Oldham area or via an Inclusion Hub provision.

The successful candidate will:

  • A passion and commitment to working with children with Special Educational Needs

  • Understanding of the barriers to learning that children with special educational needs may face and be able to use effective strategies to support them

  • Experience of developing learning resources that scaffold and support learning

  • Awareness of child development and knowledge of how children learn

  • Experience ofworking with or caring for children of a relevant age to those in the school

  • Communication skills to liaise sensitively and effectively with parents and carers

  • NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience

  • Literacy and Numeracy skills equivalent to Level 1 of the National Qualification & Credit Framework

  • Completion of Department for Education Teaching Assistant Induction Programme (orto complete within first term)
