Senior Nursery Room Leader
Location: Raised in Bristol at the Greenway CentreSalary: £29,848 per annum
Full Time Full time 40 hours per week
Join the team at Raised in Bristol, a not-for-profit social enterprise providing the very best early years education whilst brightening the local landscape by investing in our community. We’re a passionate bunch at Raised In! We love what we do, and we’re committed to helping the youngest children reach their full potential in friendly, nurturing and engaging home-from-home environments. And we want you to join us! This nursery has just 62 places for children, so it has a more relaxed feel than larger settings. The refurbished old school building has been designed to inspire young minds. Its large windows and high ceilings create a light, welcoming space. The nursery garden runs the length of the nursery and looks out over the Greenway Playing Field. Behind that lies Badocks Wood, where we take children regularly to explore. At Raised in Bristol, we offer child-led learning through play in a space that prioritises a nurturing environment with a focus on nature and nutrition as children take their first steps towards school. Located at the Greenway Centre in Southmead, this nursery is a short drive from Southmead Hospital and the local areas of Filton, Patchway, Westbury-on-Trym, Henleaze and Horfield. There is free parking on site in the community centre car park, and the area is also served by local bus routes running all across Bristol.
Why work with us? We really value our expert team. As well as offering competitive pay for all roles in a friendly and supportive team, you’ll receive lots of great benefits: ● Competitive pay ● Annual pay reviews ● Paid one hour lunch break ● 50% off for your child in our nurseries ● Enhanced maternity pay ● Employer pension ● ‘Refer a friend’ bonus for introducing new team members to us ● 28 days holiday (inc bank holidays, FTE) ● Your Birthday off and an Annual Wellbeing Day (in addition to your annual leave) ● Plus 3 extra days off between Christmas and New Year ● 24/7 access to a remote GP for you and your family ● Career progression and training opportunities
What about you? We’re looking for an experienced Room Leader to join the team as Senior Room Leader and third in charge. This role supports the Nursery Manager and Deputy Nursery Manager. This exciting opportunity would be perfect for someone looking to progress their Early Years career into nursery management. We’re looking for an inspiring and qualified Senior Room Leader who can bring energy and passion to their work, supporting the nursery management team to get the best out of the wider team. You’ll be a great communicator with parents, children and your team members. This nursery has the opportunity to offer Forest School Sessions, being so closely located to Badocks Woods, so if you’re Forest School trained this could be a great fit for you. To apply for this role, you will need to have a relevant qualification in Early Years – NNEB, NVQ Level 3+ Diploma* (Childcare & Education), BTEC (Childcare) or equivalent, or a higher qualification such as QTS, Foundation Degree or BA Hons in Early Years Education or Child Development. *Unfortunately, a Level 3 Award in Early Years Education does not count toward the DFE's "full and relevant" Level 3 qualification for staffing ratios in early years settings. To work at Raised In, you’ll need the right to work in the UK and be able to reliably commute to the nursery. We’ll require you to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK, if applicable, as part of the recruitment process. We’re currently unable to sponsor foreign nationals for work visas. If you’re an international applicant with an early years qualification awarded outside the UK. You’ll need to apply for an Early Years Statement from Ecctis Early Years Service before we can process your application.
You’ll have (in line with Raised in Behaviours) ● The ability to contribute to creating a welcoming, inclusive, collaborative and supportive environment ● Children’s needs at the forefront of everything that you do ● A positive mindset, approaching tasks with a can-do-attitude ● A strong work ethic, setting a good example for others and supporting your team ● The want to make a difference, working in partnership positively with your team ● The want to be part of trying or suggesting new initiatives and ways of doing things ● High standards for yourself, team and the nursery ● A reflective mindset, open to feedback and ongoing self-improvement
