Cedarbank School, Livingston is a school which provides children and young people who have additional learning and care needs an opportunity to access high quality learning and teaching. The curriculum is designed and adapted to meet the diverse needs of the individual learners. The school has both a primary and a secondary department.
The school roll comprised of up to 110 pupils, Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher, 2 Principal Teachers, 18 members of the teaching staff and a team of 24 pupil support workers.
We are seeking two enthusatic advanced pupil support workers to join the support team in the school. Under the teacher’s direction they will work within the learning environment to support pupil learning, organise resources and carry out duties relating to pupil pastoral support. They will promote an ethos of achievement through the development of positive relationships and will have due regard for the health and safety of the young people they are working with.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
