Post:Locum SpecialtyDoctor in Breast Surgery
We are seeking a committed and experienced Specialty Doctor to join our Breast Services team. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of high-quality breast care across outpatient clinics, diagnostic services, surgical procedures, and multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings. The role supports the management of breast cancer patients and those presenting with breast symptoms, ensuring timely diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
This is a full-time (10 programmed activities) post based at the Oxford University Hospital’s NHS Foundation Trust, Breast Surgery Department. The Breast Surgery Department is Based across three hospital sites, Churchill Hospital, Horton Hospital and John Radcliffe Hospital
The post is for 12 months starting as soon as possible.
Elective
· Provide outpatient diagnostic and follow-up services for comprehensive breast care.
· Deliver and support one-stop breast clinics, including radiology-supported diagnostics (e.g., mammography, ultrasound, biopsy) and non-radiology assessments.
· Communicate cancer results sensitively and effectively and manage follow-up clinics.
· Perform independent and joint elective operating, including day case procedures.
· Advise on inpatient breast-related issues and contribute to inpatient care as needed.
· Participate actively in Breast MDT meetings, contributing to collaborative decision-making and treatment planning.
· Maintain high clinical standards in the evaluation and management of patients with breast symptoms and breast cancer.
