Job Title: Support Worker

Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer (Mum)

Hours: 6 hours per week

Hourly Rate of Pay: £12.21

Based at: Employer’s own home in Rougham, Suffolk and out in the local community

Job Purpose

The purpose of the job is to support and be a friendly companion to a 6 young boy with CTNNB1 (similar to cerebral palsy). The child lives at home with his family. The purpose is to build a trusting, professional relationship with the child and to support him with all his needs. The child is non-verbal, loves being outdoors and is very friendly.

Main duties:

To support with:
- Personal care e.g. washing, dressing and changing nappies.
- Constant supervision is required at all times.
- Support with all safety aspects.
- To be a social friendly companion to the child
- You will be required to keep him entertained in the home.
- To build a supportive relationship and take part in activities which the child enjoys, such as going on walks, going to the park, playing on the trampoline etc.
- To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Personal Specification

• Flexible in the hours and times that you can work.
• Have a good sense of humour and enjoy a friendly joke.
• You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety.
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• You should have knowledge and understanding of risks.
• Be patient and supportive.

This post is subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check at the Employers request prior to commencing employment. This is confidential and at no cost to yourself. 6 months probationary period.
