At Huws Gray Plant & Tool Hire, we take pride in providing a high-quality Plant & Tool hire service - and it’s our people who make that possible. Backed by the strength of the Huws Gray Group, we offer our customers the best branded products, expert support, and a friendly, knowledgeable service.
Huws Gray Plant & Tool Hire is on a journey of growth right now, so you’d be joining us at an exciting time with opportunities for development and further progression.
As a Hire Fitter at Huws Gray Plant & Tool Hire, you’ll be the go-to person making sure our equipment is safe, reliable, and ready to roll. From maintaining and repairing plant and tool kit to keeping everything up to safety standards, you'll help keep our customers moving and projects on track.
What you’ll be doing:
Looking after our equipment with routine maintenance and repairs, making sure everything’s safe and ready to go
Carrying out checks before and after hire, so our kit is always in top condition for the next customer
Keeping the workshop clean, tidy, and safe - because a well-run space makes all the difference
Staying organised by keeping maintenance records up to date and logging inspections properly
Helping customers out in a friendly, professional way
Chipping in with stock checks and lending a hand wherever the team needs you
We’re happy to explore flexible working options. Feel free to chat with us about it during the interview. While we might not be able to meet every request, we’ll always listen with an open mind—and there’s no judgment in asking.
What You’ll Bring:
At Huws Gray Plant & Tool Hire, we believe your experience is only part of the story - it’s your individuality that helps make our team shine. We’ll provide all the training and tools you need to succeed as a Fitter. To hit the ground running, you’ll need a full UK driving licence so you can attend customer call-outs when needed - while experience in a similar role is a big plus, it’s your attitude and willingness to learn that really matter.
What’s in it for you:
We believe great work should be recognised and rewarded. Here’s what you can expect:
23 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays (31 days per year)
Company bonus scheme, based on performance
Contributory pension and life assurance
Discounts on high street retailers, supermarkets, restaurants, gyms and cinemas
Colleague discount across our group brands
Attraction and travel discounts
Fully-funded training to gain your Class 2 licence (if you don’t already have this)
We offer on-the-job training and opportunities to work towards recognised qualifications, including apprenticeships.
At Huws Gray, we believe that a diverse and inclusive workforce makes us stronger, smarter and better at serving our customers.
We’re proud to be an equal opportunities employer and we are committed to creating a respectful and inclusive workplace, whether you’re based in one of our branches, on the road or in one of our offices.
If you need any adjustments to support you through the application or interview process, please let us know.
