Econ Engineering Limited is the UK’s largest supplier of winter maintenance vehicles, and we are currently looking to recruit a Mobile HGV Technician based from our depot in Cardiff to support our growing workforce.
The successful candidate will be an experienced commercial vehicle engineer, carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and breakdown servicing on a modern fleet of winter maintenance vehicles. Previous experience working on Mercedes and DAF trucks would be an advantage, while an HGV Class 2 licence or equivalent is a requirement.
You will need to adapt to flexible working hours, especially in winter, with the position incorporating out-of-hours working to provide customers with assistance. The call-out season runs from the beginning of October until the end of April. Paid standby will also be required. During the summer you will be involved in preparing the winter fleet in Cardiff, combined with the variation of continued on-site work.
This interesting role will include:
Attending breakdowns and conducting repairs to ensure minimal down time.
Fault-finding reported defects and carrying out repairs as required.
Carrying out preventative maintenance and routine scheduled servicing in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
Completing required paperwork on a tablet.
A fully equipped high-spec van and special tools will be provided. Training and backup will be given and supported from the central hub and local team.
The candidate must be able to work on their own initiative but also thrive as a team player.
An extremely competitive salary, plus bonus, overtime, standby allowance and pension will be paid.
