We’re looking for a talented Infrastructure Engineer to join our Mobile Device Services team in DWP Digital. You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and supporting the mobile technologies that enable our colleagues to work securely and effectively anytime, anywhere.
As a member of the team, you’ll work across a range of modern platforms and tools, helping to deliver seamless mobile experiences for one of the UK’s largest government departments. From device management and endpoint security to mobile application deployment, your expertise will help ensure our workforce stays connected and productive.
You’ll collaborate with engineers, architects, and product teams to continuously improve our mobile device services, with a strong focus on user needs, performance, and resilience.

Some of the projects you can expect to help design and build infrastructure includes migration to workspace one SaaS, Office 365 on mobile, cloud hosting, on-demand VPN, BYOD.

As an Infrastructure Engineer on the Mobile Device Services Team you will be responsible for maintaining a mature Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform and service and will develop and maintain infrastructure products and contribute towards their design.
Infrastructure Delivery & Improvement
- Managing and maintaining Workspace One configuration to support Mobile Device Management.
- Deal with and take decisions on day-to-day operational management of services/solutions relating to own work area and to those they manage.
- provide specialist technical support and assistance to projects ensuring definition and delivery of requisite non-functional requirements to architectural and roadmap developments.

Infrastructure Support
- 3rd line support for incidents, problems and changes.
- apply different techniques to methods in analysing and resolving problems, working up new practices and procedures or modify existing processes to improve performance.

Information Management
- Provide reports of Service performance to the Senior Infrastructure Engineer and other senior leadership members from Digital, reporting against agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and via the relevant reporting channels and forums.
- Management of the risk register for individual technical area, ensuring appropriate reporting and mitigation plans and actions are implemented.
