Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our kitchen team in the role of Nursery Cook. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for food. The successful candidate will play a vital role in menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring that a nutritious and balanced meals are prepared for the children.
Responsibilities
Assist in menu planning to create diverse and appealing meal options.
Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
Ensure all food handling practices comply with safety and sanitation regulations.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain an efficient workflow during meal service.
Manage food inventory, including ordering and restocking supplies as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
Skills
Background in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques desirable but not essential.
Be willing to undertake training and up skill knowledge as required.
Knowledge of food safety regulations.
Experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently whilst working to a timescale .
Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members effectively.
A commitment to providing high-quality meals.
Would suit someone looking to work around school drop off/pick up. Hours can be discussed at interview.
The successful candidate will start on 16 hours (Wed-Friday) with the view to increase to 25 hours (Mon-Fri) in January 2026
