What skills and experience we're looking for
We are currently looking for an After-School Club Playworker to work term time only, starting as soon as possible. Candidates will be required to co-ordinate stimulating and enjoyable activities under the guidance of the After-School Club Supervisor. They will also be required to assist with supervision, planning and participating in activities and snack preparation. A good level of written and spoken English is required.
Candidates must be imaginative, creative and well organised; as well as able to build good relationships with children, their parents/carers and colleagues. Excellent communication skills are therefore essential, along with patience, tolerance and the ability to work as part of our happy team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to combine work with academic study.
What the school offers its staff
Visits are warmly encouraged. Please contact the Office Manager, Mrs Ginevra Sproat, in the school office to arrange an appointment or for further details. Should a successful candidate have a child/ren attending our school, we are able to offer up to two free spaces in the After-School Club during work shifts.
Further details about the role
Applications will be considered on receipt and we reserve the right to close this vacancy early should an appointment be made to the post.
Commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect everyone to share this commitment. This post requires applicants to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post. All users are considered confidentially and according to the nature of the role and information disclosed. Keeping our pupils safe is our first priority. We follow safer recruitment practices as per KCSIE and will rigorously take up and check references and carry out an internet check as per guidance
