We're seeking Trainee Teachers to join our team and support autistic pupils using behaviourally based instruction and positive reinforcement. In this role, which is also known as a Senior Teaching Assistant, you will work with students in small classes, either in a group or one-on-one, to help them meet their individual needs and reach their full potential.
The RoleYou will be responsible for designing, planning, and delivering teaching sessions to help students develop their skills and accelerate learning. Your duties will include:

Providing teaching and support to autistic pupils based on their individual curriculum's.

Planning and delivering lessons and activities to help pupils with their social and emotional development.

Assisting pupils with personal care, such as toileting and feeding, and encouraging good personal and environmental hygiene.

Taking part in breaktime duties and off-site activities with pupils.

Contributing to the creation and maintenance of teaching materials.

Participating in professional development and training to grow your knowledge of autism spectrum disorders.

Has professional, personal, or voluntary experience working with children and disabilities.

Has a minimum Grade C/4 GCSE, or equivalent, in English Language & Maths.

Is comfortable working with children who may exhibit challenging behaviour.

Is able to support others with personal or intimate care when needed.

Can remain calm in high-pressure situations.

Is committed to ongoing professional development and training.

Has a strong personal commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Is able to perform physically demanding tasks, such as twisting, stooping, and working at a lower height.

Possesses a positive, can-do attitude.
An Early Years qualification is desirable but not essential.
This is a full-time position, working 36.75 hours per week. Part-time work is also considered (3 or 4 days, including Tuesday). The holiday allowance is 56 days plus bank holidays. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
