About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a thriving and well-regarded secondary school in the heart of Leeds. This is a full-time position, with an immediate start, offering a fantastic opportunity to gain invaluable classroom experience. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing classrooms in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with their learning. This role is perfect for a recent graduate, an aspiring teacher, or anyone with a passion for working with young people. You will be provided with full support and guidance, allowing you to develop your skills and confidence in a safe and rewarding environment.

Requirements
- Previous experience working with young people, either in a school or other setting.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding principles.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)

Responsibilities
- Supervise lessons, ensuring students are on task and engaged with their work.
- Deliver pre-prepared work to the class, providing clear instructions.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policy.
- Answer student questions and provide support where necessary.
- Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
- Liaise with teaching staff and the head of department to provide feedback on lessons.
- Ensure all resources and equipment are used correctly.
- Escort students to and from assemblies or other school events.
- Report any issues or concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
- Promote the school's positive ethos and values.
