We are currently recruiting for the following post:

  • Occupational Therapist Adults & Children – Lightbulb Team – County Wide (30 Hours Per Week, Permanent)

Dependent on skills, abilities and relevant experience, we are recruiting to:

  • Level 1 Occupational Therapist: £32,070 to £34,359
  • Level 2 Occupational Therapist: £35,451 to £39,165
  • Level 3 Occupational Therapist: £39,939 to £42,699 (Level 3 OT attracts a market premia supplement of £3,300 per annum pro-rata)

About the Roles

We have a strong team of Occupational Therapists and Community Support Workers across our OT service who are passionate about supporting both adults and children with disabilities and long-term needs.

  • The Lightbulb Occupational Therapy team at LCC are responsible for assessing for complex major adaptations, and design innovative schemes which give people access to essential facilities in their home. They work closely with housing officers within the Leicestershire Lightbulb service to progress schemes from design to completion. We are a county wide service for both adults and children with a strong team of experienced Occupational Therapists.

A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • Hold a degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or expect to have completed your course and obtained registration in 2025.
  • Have knowledge of occupational therapy methodologies and social care policies. This includes, reablement and asset based social care, and relevant legislation such as The Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Children’s Act and in particularly The Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 (the 1996 Act) which relates to Disabled facilities Grants (DFG’s).
  • Have knowledge/awareness of major home adaptations for people with disabilities.
  • Have experience of effective assessment and risk management delivery, and multi-agency/multidisciplinary working and/or hospital discharge processes.
  • Have experience of partnership working with citizens to identify and meet need with creative and pragmatic solutions.
  • Be a confident communicator who is skilled in diplomacy, persuasion, assertive and conflict management and able to build effective working relationships and able to work proactively individually but also as a team member.
  • Have good prioritisation and time management skills.
