About You
Are you a passionate and motivated Childcare Tutor with experience working with young people, or eager to share your expertise to support learners in achieving their life goals? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to join Central YMCA and make a tangible impact in education and training.
To thrive in this role, you will:
- Hold relevant teaching and assessing qualifications, such as PGCE/Certificate in Education or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.
- Be qualified to a minimum Level 3 in Childcare.
- Possess strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for teaching, learning, and learner development, taking initiative and meeting deadlines effectively.
Key skills and responsibilities include:
- Delivering engaging and innovative teaching, learning, and assessment programmes tailored to learner needs, including Functional Skills, English, and maths up to GCSE level.
- Embedding practical skills, employability, and personal development into the learning experience.
- Providing pastoral and tutorial support to learners, monitoring progress, and helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.
- Ensuring all learning aligns with the latest developments in the childcare sector and integrates ICT and digital tools to enhance teaching outcomes.
About the Role
Are you a passionate and motivated Childcare Tutor with experience working with young Based in Leeds, this full-time Childcare Tutor role offers the opportunity to join a growing and supportive team. You will deliver a high-quality, inclusive curriculum across a range of levels (Entry to Level 2), guiding learners from initial assessment through to the successful completion of their qualifications.
Your role will contribute directly to shaping learners’ futures in the childcare sector, supporting their progression, employability, and personal growth. By delivering education aligned with the Common Inspection Framework (CIF), you will ensure learners benefit from outstanding, learner-centred teaching and assessment experiences.

Safeguarding responsibilities: This role will involve daily contact with learners, and you will be engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. All staff have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, and/or vulnerable adults for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact. The Charity’s Safeguarding Policy is available from Central YMCA website.
Any offer of employment will be subject to successfully completing pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS disclosure, teacher prohibition check, the receipt of satisfactory references, overseas check (if applicable), relevant original ID documentation and examination certificates.
Regulated activity: This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the Charity is therefore permitted to ask shortlisted applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) to assess their suitability to work with children.
