Emerald Team - Empowering Youth, Building Futures

At Wiltshire Council, we value and recognise all our staff for the hard work they do every day. Kickstart your social work journey with our Emerald team, making a positive impact on the lives of children, young people, and their families.

This is a contextual safeguarding team working with young people who face risks outside of the home.

Our Families and Children's service provides a high quality, efficient and effective social work service. This is an opportunity to join our supportive and friendly team as a Newly Qualified Social Worker, working within a great environment where you’ll be supported.

You will work with a dedicated ASYE Development Manager and receive supervision twice a month, as well as informal support and ongoing guidance for practice. You will receive ongoing training and development which is designed by our designated ASYE Co-ordinator, and you will finish with an end of year group celebration.

Why us?

In addition to our ASYE programme, we provide a range of learning and development opportunities - not just at the start of your career but across the professional capabilities’ framework. Grounded in relationship-based practice, opportunities are varied and ongoing such as a newly developed innovative fund for developing practice by shadowing in organisations.

Wiltshire Council is a friendly, welcoming place to work, with a 'One Council' ethos. That’s why we focus on getting the things that matter to our people right.

Please download and read the role description and person specification carefully before you apply as well as Our Identity.

The council is committed to creating an environment of positive working relationships where everyone feels engaged, supported and able to thrive. Our Identity is a framework which sets out how we are all expected to lead, work and act to deliver our services. We will not tolerate discrimination, bullying or harassment of any kind. Everyone is expected to promote a culture of inclusion, dignity, trust and respect which is underpinned by our vision and Our Identity framework.

For more details, contact Jessica Mackie, Team Manager Emerald, at Jessica.Mackie@wiltshire.gov.uk.

This role may be subject to certain successful security checks; please see the role description for more information.

We are firmly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and to the principles of inclusion and diversity in both employment and the delivery of services. Read our statement of commitment to equality and inclusion.

Please ensure to regularly check your spam/junk folder for any communication from us regarding your application status. We wouldn't want you to miss out on any important updates or interview invitations. Thank you!
