Crynodeb
This will include the supervision of learners along with designing and producing appropriate materials to support their individual communication methods and support needs to enable them to offer a high quality customer focussed café service.
You may also be required to undertake the daily personal care needs of the learners being supervised where necessary.
Responsibilities:
Support for the Learner / Participant
1. Establish good working relationships with the learner, acting as a role model.
2. Be aware of and respond appropriately to individual needs ensuring effective interaction.
3. Provide specific support ensuring safety whilst supporting access to learning activities and providing a café service.
4. Promote inclusion and acceptance of all learners.
5. Encourage learners to interact with their peers and customers.
6. Promote self-esteem and independence.
7. Provide feedback in relation to progress and achievement of learner targets under the guidance and direction of the tutor.
8. Complete required personal care needs for each assigned participant to include support with eating and drinking as well as toileting.
Support for the Cafe lead
9. In liaison with the cafe lead, utilise strategies to support learners in achieving their personal learning goals.
10. Report achievements, progress, and issues as appropriate in agreed format.
11. Undertake record keeping as requested.
12. Promote good behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents and encouraging learners to take responsibility for their own behaviour in line with established policy.
13. Establish constructive relationships with parents/carers.
14. Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment.
Support for the curriculum
15. Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/learning programmes, taking into consideration learning styles.
16. Support the use of ICT in activities and develop the competence and independence in its use by learners.
17. Prepare, maintain, and use equipment/resources required to meet the relevant learning activity and assist learners in their use.
Support for the Charity
18. Be aware of and comply with the Willow Green policies and procedures. Report all concerns to the appropriate person (as named in the policy concerned).
19. Be aware of and support difference, ensuring all have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
20. Contribute to the annual quality improvement plan.
21. Attend relevant meetings as required.
22. Participate in training and other learning activities as required.
23. Assist with the supervision of learners out of directed lesson time, including break and lunch time and after standard learning hours if waiting for end of day transport.
24. Accompany teaching staff and learners on visits, trips and activities as required.
